My Approach to Women's Care
Let's do better for women.

As a female GP, I have spent many years caring for women, and this has given me a deep appreciation for the different ways women experience their health and wellbeing. Every woman is unique, and my approach is guided by listening carefully, understanding her concerns, and respecting her wishes.

I aim to create a calm, safe, and supportive space where women feel comfortable to talk openly and make informed decisions about their health. My role is to walk alongside each woman, gently guiding and supporting her through whatever stage of life she is in.

Women experience many important transitions, and I am here to offer care and reassurance during these moments, and to support women through every stage of life from the first period through to menopause.

My focus is on providing thoughtful, personalised, and evidence‑based care so that every woman feels supported and confident in looking after her own wellbeing.

04 — What to Expect

Before your Appointment

Our visit should feel calm, comfortable, and supportive. Here is a guide to help you know what to expect when you come to see me.

To help us make the most of our time together, you may be asked to complete a Patient Medical Information Form before your first visit. You are also welcome to bring

  • Recent test results
  • Letters or reports from other specialists
  • A list of your current medications
  • Any questions or concerns you’d like to discuss

Many women find it helpful to write a short list of topics they don’t want to forget

04 — During Your Initial

Appointment (60+ minutes)

Your first appointment is longer so we can explore your concerns in a relaxed and unhurried way. During this visit, we will:

01

Talk through your concerns in detail

I’ll take a thorough history of your symptoms, general health, wellbeing, and any changes you’ve noticed

02

Review any relevant information

This may include your medical form, pathology tests, scans, or specialist letters.

03

Perform any necessary examinations

Examinations are always explained first and only done with your consent. You are welcome to pause at any time or ask questions.

04

Discuss possible next steps

Sometimes further tests or additional information are needed before starting a full treatment plan. This ensures that your care is safe, accurate, and tailored to your individual needs.

05

Create a personalised plan

Together, we will outline a plan that reflects your goals, preferences, and timeframe. If helpful, I can also write to your regular GP with a summary and recommended next steps.

During Your Follow‑Up

Appointment (30–45 minutes)

Follow‑up consultations are designed to support you as we continue your care. We may:

  • Review and explain new test results
  • Check in on how you’re responding to treatment
  • Explore any new symptoms or concerns
  • Adjust or fine‑tune your treatment plan
  • Discuss lifestyle strategies that may support your wellbeing
  • Arrange further tests if needed

If you think you’ll need extra time, you’re very welcome to book a longer appointment.
